I just bought a power fc 4 my rs 200, i was told it comes with a basic map you can drive on until it you get to the tuner. In replacing the computer is there a sequence of things to do when doing the changeover of the standard ecu to the power fc?

yes it does come with a base map, but is reccomended you dont do any aggressive driving on the base map.

off the top of my head, this is the strat up procedure, i cant quite remember how to navigate to the boost control function deactivation part off the top of my head, will check my manual when i get home)

1 - disconnect battery
2 - Disconnect factory ecu
3 - plug in Power FC and hand controller
4 - turn ignition key to on, dont start the car. make sure all your checklights come up on the dash, and the hand controller dispay powers up.
5 - if you're not using the boost control function turn it off
6 - start the car and let idle
7 - after 10 mins of idling, turn your airconditioning on and continue to idle
8 - after another 10 mins of idling turn your demister on and continue to idle
9 - after another 10 mins (thats 30mins in total) you're ready to go.

If you cut short the 30 mins, the thing will stall alot and run like crap.

I'm trying to Fault Find a possibly Faulty Power FC at the mo.
Does anyone have the Circuit diagram for the Altezza rs200 Power FC (414-T006)or the standard ECU?

I have the Pin out and the wiring diagram .pdf (for standard ecu), but i need to find out how the injectors are switched.

Heres my Post about my problem

Quick question folks while we're on the power fc discussion.

I just got a power fc from nengun i'm getting the car tuned up in a few weeks. i'm putting a new 5zigen manifold, TRD exhaust (on car when i got it) and a full apexi induction kit anyone on here done anything similar on a N/A 3SGE engine and what sort of gain did you get

I've got what looks like netz kobe headers and exhaust and some weird intake (I liken it to an apexi intake). I'd be interested to see the difference it makes for you as I've still got the stock ECU.

Cheers barry. Looks like it does make a big difference, especially since I have an odd intake.

he's actually just had it re-tuned again, and it appears that he has picked up a heap of mid and low range torque, top end is much the same.

Hmm, that worries me a little about speed factory. Do you know his peak KW numbers now and who did it? I could only make out 115kw at 7000rpm before the sheet cut off.

That cant be right can it?

Dyno peak shows 119.5kw @ the wheels, hell in that case I'm sticking to my stock air box, muffler and ECU for my 125ish KW

Yea, that's crazy, there's a huge inconsistency with the dyno's and company's used for testing. Maybe we should be posting how and where the test was done with the results? It seems like with the mods he still gained a lot of extra torque, even if peak isn't much more than stock.

I just got mine done a few week ago with a trd exhaust, 5zigen manifold and an apexi induction kit. I barely got any extra HP, but i did get 20 nM extra torque , hard to say if the car is any faster as i no longer have the vvti kick at 4500 sad.gif but instead have a steady power stream from around 3500 up to 7800ish. some day i think its quicker some day i think its slower but its still a quick car so i'm happy enough with it for the moment

After chatting to the guys who tuned my power FC last week (NZEFI), I tend to think that the procedure above is pretty much crap.

The power FC has no learning capability at all, so running it for 10 mins, or even an hour with things turned on isn't going to do squat.

This is my dyno anyway.

I'm "Titties" from the Toyspeed Forums.
I've found that the differences from Dyno to Dyno is massive.

I'll be attending the Torque Performance Dyno Day on 16th August,
So we can get a direct comparison with the other Altezza's that turn up.

Something that i should've done is got a base run of the stock ECU when i got it tuned (the final tune). that was there would have been a definate gain.

So i know Nick's altezza is ~125kwatws, but then again my initial tune was 145kwatw... so who knows!!!
I'm definitely looking forward to the dyno day though, gonna be good fun!!

havent done it, but in the powerr FC it has 4 or 5 different AFM settings... I assume that they can be customised somewhat, but havent looked too hard as mine is pretty much stock.

Gotta love being able to prove yourself wrong...

This procedure of turning on for 10 mins let it idle etc is just for idle adjustment, nothing more. Yes it learns, but only for near no load.
no fueling changes to the rest of the map, no timing changes for the rest of the map.
