The owner (Mr Li) has taken care of the RS200Z in the last 2 years. It is still his baby, he won't sell it if he is not going back to China.

It is a good buy with extras like new full exhaust system, Apexi sports springs, xenon headlight upgrade, GY F1 tyres... etc

It is a bargain for the price. It would be easier if buyers from VIC can buy this car.

If I can sell my yellow NSX quickly (on carsales), I would buy it back to start Altezza thingy again in VIC. I also have a red NSX coming up for sale soon, if anyone interested?

Technically you should able to register the car in NSW because it only requires at least 2-year Registration in VIC if it is a rebuild. I am NOT sure about the rules with NSW at the moment.

2 - why does it have a new gearbox?

I am not interested in NSW rules! I have a feeling would be hard for "rebuild" car to transfer over to NSW. Other states are ok, the NSW rules "was" at least 2-year Registration in VIC.

The fussy owner want to keep the car in brand new condition, fit near-new gearbox (7000kms) when upgrading flywheel and clutch.

It is a rebuild car. Everything is done properly in VIC. We even went through emission test for this RS200. If anyone needs help on emission test on RS200, we got it for 3SGE Dual VVT-i engine test through Vipac. Emission test could be very expensive!

There are only 2 ways to bring Altezza RS200Z "Manual" (you won't waste your time on auto ones) into Australia:

1. rebuild (quicker and more expensive)

2. personal imports (used to be 3-month in Japan, now it is 12-month)

Personal imports could have some issues when come to proper compliance requirements, finance and insurance.

There are some Altezza RS200s around with yellow plates (now is yellow plastic sticker, be very careful when doing engine bay detailing).

I am sure it can be registered in Adelaide. The original engineer report (the first one) was done in Adelaide. My friend's NSXs (rebuild) were registered in VIC before, then he transfer cars to Adelaide without any issues after he decided to live there.
