While on the topics of engine weights, what does the 1jz-gte weigh does anyone know?

Grinder's recent single turbo car weighed in at 1420kg which was only 55kg above the red book kerb weight for the stock is200 is this correct?
Thats the only information I have on it any more clues?

The 1UZ is (significantly) heavier, but as I haven't weighed it all in one piece yet I don't want to post up the figure.

Rumours of 276kg for a 2JZ-GTE without transmission have popped up around the place.

A 1JZ-GTE is definitely heavier than a 1G-FE, and the R154 will be at least the same as, if not heavier than, the J160, and considering my IS200 weighed in at 1420kg, I'm not convinced of the 1420 figure with the single turbo 1JZ... something doesn't make sense - scale tolerances I suggest. Without weighing it before and after on the same equipment you have no way of knowing if it gained or lost...

The paper weight of an Aus 2000 IS200 is 1330kg.

Official Toyota weight for 1JZGTE twin turbo version is 217kg and 1JZGTE VVTi version is 211kg.
Getrag V160 6 speed weighs 57kg. That is why my front end sat down lots after the conversion.

Well the difference between Grahamd's 217kg 1JZGTE twin turbo and your 1GFE is 41kilos so maybe the 55kg difference is possible, depending on how much extra the gearbox weighs. In saying this the 1420 1JZGTE figure could well be wrong but its the difference in weight that we are intreseted in between the cars.

The weight on the black IS was 1480 (just looked at the certificate)
If the IS is 1330kg on paper and the 1J is 211kg compared to 176kg for the 1G thats 35kg. Thats still 115kg unaccounted for

I dont think the R154 weighs a 115kg more than the J160.

Does your car weigh 1420 with the 1G or the 1UZ?
If its the 1G there is still a 25kg difference.. Which would be about right with bolt ons and gearbox and cooler.

not to bad considering you get 3 times the power and only gain 60kgs.

paper weight is 1330, but i bet thats probably the cars dry weight. accounting for all the fluids and you would get somethin above 1400 methinks

Delta stock 1gfe, 1jzgte twin turbo = 40.35kg

minus a turbo add a extra for a gearbox and assume that grinders black200 and Mos's Is200 had simlar fluid levels the

Delta IS200 1gfe running fluids vs 1jzgte single turbo IS200 running fluids = 60kg

I guess that could be plasible +- 15,0 kg for error.

I'm just trying to figure out the weight change to see how much it would affect handling dynamics of the vehicle from a technical point of view as mos's previously stated wheel weight and 50/50 figures showed why the IS200 is a capable mover.

What does a IS300 weigh?

IS300 Kerb Weight Mass 1505kg
IS300 Gross Vehicle Mass 1970kg

So a 1jz combo is lighter than an is300....

are you serial? 2 1970 for a 300... i thought they were porky but....??

Greeneyes (RS200Z man) weighs 1340kg
